Our amazing members are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Our chapter recognizes the positive achievement of others, is involved in the community through blood drives, food drives, clothes drives, environmental and community clean-up activities, and tutorial programs. We mentor disadvantaged young males, we nurture the elderly, we assist in providing housing for disadvantaged persons, and we raise funds for scholarships and educational foundations.

On the evening of November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi was founded inside the Science Building (later renamed Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. The founders were three undergraduates — Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just.
